Come out

come outHere is the worry – walking with God is good and we know that He walks with us – yet sometimes we walk in arenas where we lose sight of God.

Sometimes we walk into places where we let down our guard thinking we are with other followers and somehow find ourselves talking about how to make a lot of money.  Other times we are told to not be so legalistic and enjoy the pleasures of life, since God created them anyway.

In the midst of those moments, you miss a beat, stop holding God’s hands, His holiness is too much for you to stay with Him and you take liberties with your commitment to only follow Him – God calls you to come out, come away, separate yourself from anything – especially from those who encourage you to no longer be committed to following God.  Step away because you will become like them.  If you think they need you to see Jesus – think again – they are taking you down.  Someone else needs to step up and tell them.

Remember, it is the Holy Spirit that draws people to Jesus, step away and rekindle your walk with God.  Nothing else matters.

Seal of God

THE SEALING OF THE 144,000_clip_image038We are given the seal of God by the Holy Spirit the moment we make the decision to follow Christ.  It is a mark of God’s faithfulness to us no matter where our journey takes us.

But the seal of God is more than just  a mark of your call to serve Him, it is in fact a mark that sets you apart from everyone and everything else on earth.

You ever notice just how different you are from other people walking in the mall, or working in the office or sitting in your classroom?  The mark separates you and as much as you might want to be hip and happening, cool and part of the regulars or silent and alone – no such thing, your mark is like a beacon that attracts or repels people.

It is also something that should make us bold.  I know I am called by God to serve a purpose.  I know that purpose has not become a reality yet.  I know that the seal of God protects me from any realm of evil that would try to take my life.  It is this trust in God that enables me to take the evil in this world and see it as actors upon a stage.  The real power lies within me and not with them.  For anyone to get through to me, they need my Father’s permission – since that is not going to happen – people better back off.

God walking with me really becomes a reality and not just a symbolic gesture.

Jesus knows

Waterspout #3AaAs we walk with Him, He knows our heart, sees our work, understands that we try our best and sees our fervor for living right.

We make a difference in the body of Christ and peoples lives are changed because we present Jesus.

He sees us how we are steady in faithful in meeting with Him each day, it has become a natural part of the day.

Maybe too natural.

One of the things we try not to do is have too much of a time of reflection of where our heart stands in relation to passion.  Our minds actually have moved forward but our heart has skipped a few beats as somehow our daily walk has become predictable and we like it like that – its become comfortable.

The adventure is maybe not so much so, we have stopped looking for the gems and nuggets, the new experiences, the desire to be more like Him.  Is it fair to say that even though we have the markings of a mature follower of Jesus that in truth we have become stale.  We know so much that its easy for us to pass through the eyes of the Church but in the eyes of Jesus we seem to Him to be falling away.

But He sees life in the things we still fight against – the doctrines of this world that would take people away from Him.  With that He can send His Holy Spirit into our lives to fill our cups, break open our hearts and move that heart to be passionate once again to search for Him – to find another reason to love Him, meet with Him, ask Him questions so we can know a little bit more.

This is something to be conquered – our motivation is being in the paradise of God.  When I step into that garden, I look forward to eating of the tree of life.

Called, beloved and kept

called, beloved and keptThis kind of confidence we have in our walk with Jesus is there for a reason.

We have our walk with Jesus to share with those we meet – but there is always more.

This past week I tried sharing another level in our relationship with Jesus that my youth group were blown away by.  They thought they were okay just the way the were and had experienced everything they could experience with God.

“Doing” our walk with Jesus has been the conversation for a long time with them and now I am introducing multiplication in mercy, peace and love from God.

Why is this so important – is it possible to reject, to put aside to lose the gift of eternal life?

Being in a position to contend for the mustard seed of faith that was delivered to us, we meet face to face with those who act like followers of Christ and are not.  They pervert the grace of God into their own gain and deny Jesus Christ.

Those who have walked away from God  are served with the same examples given to us.  The people in Egypt who did not believe, the angels cast away from God’s presence and who are in eternal chains, the people of Sodom and Gomorrah who vested in unnatural lust – all have provided us with and example by being punished with eternal fire.

We need to understand our call as being a follower of Jesus, we need to know that in the fight for our love He sends His angels to sustain us, and we need to know that God rebukes the evil one from our life.

Do not believe just because its supernatural

night-park-with-moonInteresting discussion with some young people on the supernatural occurrences such as blood flowing from the hands of a statue of Jesus – they blew me away at their simple faith that God can do anything so why not that?

I had to follow with some teaching that we cannot believe every spirit, but should test the spirits to see whether they are of God.

There is the simple test that John gives us – every spirit which confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit which does not confess Jesus is not of God.

One thing for sure you have nothing to fear of the supernatural –  you are of God, and have overcome; for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

People of the world listen to people of the world.  We are of God. Whoever knows God listens to us, and he who is not of God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

What does that look like again in our walk with Jesus?  Let us love one another; for love is of God, and he who loves is born of God and knows God.
