Waiting for…

waitHow many times in the OT do you find the phrase…WAIT!

It usually comes in repetition to signify just how important waiting is.

But what are we waiting for?

I believe we probably would say we are waiting for the Lord to do His thing, but deep in our hearts we are waiting for Him to meet our needs, answer our prayers and show up.

Reading the stories of missionaries who were so burned out and so exhausted and so frustrated, they were waiting for only one thing – being filled with the Holy Spirit.

Reminds me of Jesus command to the disciples before He left – wait until you have received the Holy Spirit.

Why do we start our day without a refreshing of the Holy Spirit?  I think we really believe we can live a life of following Jesus all by ourselves and need no power from on high to succeed.

I say we start waiting for the filling of the Holy Spirit each day before we venture along our walk with God.
