Until the number killed should be complete

killing_frost_1_635066411351870127There is a cult who are so worried about being part of the remaining 144,000 witnesses on earth during the end times that many will try to rack up as many points as possible in order to beat out the million or so members that have joined.

I believe Jesus said that if we spend so much attention trying to save our lives, we would end up losing it.

It is probably why He went to extremes by suggesting that if your arm is going to sin and keep you out of heaven, then cut it off.  He knew that by trying to enter into heaven just as we are, trying to keep it all together, then we might not make it.

In learning about the beginnings of SIM and also about the Anglican church mission program to Africa, I was amazed to learn something very special about the Anglicans and the SIM missionaries who were sent to Africa in the late 1800s and early 1900s. I must admit that I wish I had heard this earlier in my life.  The Anglicans went with their caskets already built and they became their luggage containers until they were needed – which usually happened in about 8 – 9 months.  SIM missionaries were called into service with the announcement, “come and die.”  Some of them saw the same fate of their Anglican friends in Christ.

We have all kinds of people arguing that Christians will not face the tribulation.   We will be spared from the wrath of God on the world is their calling card to their agenda.

Ask any one in the church today to come and help you plant a church, minister to a culture group, live among the community God has called you to serve and most likely all of them will say no.  All of them will say that God has not called me to come and die.

I think we are reading different Bibles.

The title mentioned above comes from the fifth seal that Jesus broke.  Nothing else can happen until the fulfillment of each seal.  This fifth seal  talks about the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne.  They were seen under the altar.

Why are we trying to serve Jesus and stay comfortable, alive, normal, in denial of our call to carry our cross – the same one that we will die on?  When I walk with Him each day and when He walks with me, I am very aware of this call to let my life die and His life consume me.  Each day I walk with Him and He with me, is a day I die and a day where He reigns.  Let it be so for all followers of Jesus.  His call matters most.

AMEN. Thrilled by the way you wrote this article. Galatians 2:20 has a big literal side hidden by those who rush to do theology with it. “I am crucified with Christ…” Or as the three Hebrew men in Daniel declared, “We don’t if God will save our physical lives or not, but whether God does or not we will not obey your order to sin, O King”.
    Peace
