Let no one deceive you

You may remember the story of the prophet whom God called to go into a certain town, preach repentance, and then leave that town as he passed through without stopping or staying with anyone there.

So he does until another prophet in that town runs after him and calls him back because God told him that it was okay for him to stay with him.

There was a bit of a tug back and forth but the first prophet who was passing through relented and stayed – that cost him is life, for as he later left the town a lion killed him.

Today, a lot of people have their own theology, especially those who call themselves followers of Jesus.

I think “sin” is one of them that gets picked on a lot.

Basically it goes like this – if you do right you are righteous.  If you sin then you belong to the devil for he has sinned since the beginning.  The reason Jesus showed up in the first place was to destroy the work of the devil – sin.

Maybe that is not strong enough – no one born of God sins for the nature of God abides in them – we are born of God.  It is this very fact that we are seen by the world to be the children of God and the difference being that anyone who does not do right are not of God.

Okay, big point of walking with Jesus – the person that does not love another follower of Jesus fits into the category of someone who is not of God.
