Just finished answering my doctrinal questionnaire for my application with SIM Canada as a cultural connection missionary.
It was a great piece of work making sure that the basic tenets of our faith statement were understood in my own language and that I had some measure of experience with them and could describe them not only in theological terms but in practical ones as well.
It was a gentle reminder that we all need to move on past the basics and towards maturity. I think that was what SIM was looking for.
So things like repentance, faith, baptism, laying on of hands, resurrection, and eternal judgement are just a few.
Remember we cannot take these too lightly. If we start our walk in faith and somehow fall in these basic matters and find that we are no longer a follower of Jesus, it will almost be impossible to be restored again to repentance.
