For me to stand I do not worry about those things that cannot keep me free.
For instance, on Friday, one of my Catholic friends began to really push the idea of communion being the actual blood and flesh of Jesus – pulling out quotes in the Bible and understanding them to be very literal.
I asked how would either of our beliefs make a difference to be free in Christ? We ended up staying friends realizing that this difference, if held on too seriously would put us back into slavery and not allow us to stay free in our relationship with Jesus.
Neither of our opinions had an advantage – for at the end of the day whether it be bread and wine (grape juice) or flesh and blood that do nothing for us – but faith working through love matters.
So my walk has again become one where I am able to walk with many more other followers of Jesus than ever before.
