I am fascinated by the number of people who want to see Jesus – either dream, vision or appearing in their room.
Jesus reveals Himself in so many ways and yet for many, that is not enough. Possibly when He does reveal Himself to them in dramatic fashion, I am sure it will still not change their lives – they will just think “how special am I” and let everyone know that Jesus loves them best. Wierd how that works.
What does Jesus expect when He opens up to us and reveals His nature and His character – His love and grace – His glory and majesty?
He comes to confirm His calling on our lives. He comes unexpectedly, when we least expect it. He comes when we are trying to fill our lives with enough noise so we do not hear Him. He comes prepared to listen to us. He comes prepared to feed us. He comes with a miracle. He comes with a blessing. He comes to engage. He comes and calls us back to His world. He comes to ask us questions. He comes to make sure we understand. He comes to remind us that following Him means that we die to ourselves. He comes to remind us that we are to make disciples who understand all of this.
Still want Jesus to reveal Himself?
