Seek and you will find

Seek-and-You-Will-Find_slide4_390x294How many times are we told of inventions that were created out of mistakes…not even looking for something they found it.

For us guys, the story of the invention of Duct tape holds no comparison.

Such is the case with ourselves.  We are looking for something we think we want or need.  We pray for it, maybe even fast for it.

Mary thinks she is going to the tomb.  She goes early, so early that it’s still dark outside.  She did not anticipate the stone being rolled away.  Not knowing what she was supposed to be looking for, she decides its in her best interest to tell someone.  Peter and John go seeking for clues as to what is going on – one more earnest than the other and then one more courageous than the other.  Nothing….

Peter and John leave, Mary left standing, crying, wondering.

Angels appear, Jesus appears.

She was looking for a dead body to grieve over.  Jesus came and gave her a mission to go and tell.

When we are seeking, I think we need to keep the options open – for we will find, that is a promise – just might not be exactly what we were looking for – it will be better.
