Did you lack anything?

goodness-and-mercyWent to visit some wealthy friends of ours.

We enjoy conversation about philosophy and life, but particularly they enjoy talking about the evil in the world.  To them, the evil that exists, exists because evil rules the world and in fact, seems to be the supreme being that is in authority.

That gets the conversation going quite easily.

What makes the case very hard for them is their wealth.  They can’t get past the idea that they are absolutely self-sufficient and not in need of God.  Society as a whole no longer needs God – we have it all figured out.

So it is up to us missionaries, who go into the world with nothing but our trust in God to care for us and who come back with the news that we lacked nothing in our service for God – He looked after every need.

To us, He is our everything, our sustainer for sure, but our God most definitely.  Life for us is not worth living, is actually very boring and unfulfilling without the adventure of walking it with Him.  There is not a day that goes by where we are not counting on Him to show up and reveal Himself in some magnificent albeit small way.

God showing up each day, what more can someone ask for.  Almost worth giving all our money away for.
