courageOne of my friends just posted something on this. This in relation to us obtaining courage by hanging out with courageous people.  Also reading about those special people, especially as it relates to following God and how their courageous acts are shared with us in the Bible.

As courageous as killing a lion, bear, or a giant is, there is nothing none more courageous than telling people who you meet in your family, outings, workplace or friends that you are a follower of Jesus.

This is the simple task every single disciple suffered from when they took Jesus to crucify Him.  At the end of the day, some women and only John stood at the cross with Jesus.

The cost of being afraid to tell someone you are a follower of Jesus is quite high – higher than death.  It is eternal separation from God.

I know, but Jesus makes it quite clear – you acknowledge people about me and you will be acknowledged before the angels of God – you don’t acknowledge Him then you will not be acknowledged.

Jesus knew it would take a new kind of courage to be associated as a follower of His.  A type of courage where there were no examples to follow – until we today can read these amazing stories in the New Testament and a book of martyrs.
