Adoration comes at a cost and a sacrifice

circle_of_constantin_verhout_the_sacrifice_of_isaac_d5613267hI know, walking with God, looking into His eyes with adoration and love, thankful for His presence and for sending His Son Jesus to redeem us from the curse of sin and setting us free to have relationship with Him….

… and what does that cost us?

Most of us answer too quickly and say its all free – saved by grace.

Not sure that works for the lady who took her most prized possession, a bottle of alabaster and broke it over the feet of Jesus.

Not sure that works for Abraham who took his only son and was willing to sacrifice him because God asked him too.

Not sure.

I think Jesus wants my life, not just my love.  I think He wants me to trust Him with it and not just give Him portions.  I think that He wants to transform me, not just patch me up.

I think He wants me to be a follower, even when it hurts around family, friends and co-workers.  He wants me to be a follower when my life or my loved ones are threatened.  He wants me to be a follower by giving Him my mornings, my afternoons and my evenings.

The cost of adoring Him is my life, my heart, my soul.
