What does a relationship with God look like?

Basically Jesus said it would be no different from the one we already have with our family members.

I mean, we know that our relationship with our parents will be different from the one we have with our siblings and the one with our grandparents will be even more different from that – but overall it’s the same.

We enjoy different parts of the family and I think we all experience Jesus differently too.  For some its the quiet time, for others the emotional “feeling” of being with Him, for others its in the learning, for others they want hands on – walking in the same footsteps Jesus walked in etc.

That’s why it is so much fun watching each of us try to explain the answer to this question.  Some of us will really fight for this as it defines who we really are and what we enjoy most about Jesus.  However, in maturity, we need to accept the fact that we all enjoy having a relationship with Jesus and that relationship is very unique to each of us.

Enjoy exploring what that will look like as you journey with God this year.

I agree. Each of our relationships with Jesus is as unique as the people who share their lives with him. It is a love relationship maturing at a rate also unique to each individual. The similarity lies in the fact that the closer we get to Jesus, the relationship brings out the best in us.
