The problem some of us have is in the waiting for the invitation.
My son is 25 years old and my wife cannot wait for his current relationship to take root and a marriage takes place. It is driving me nuts.
I see the same thing happening around me with my family in the kingdom of God. There is no invitation forthcoming and in the course of busyness in their lives and begin to not walk with God, occasional walk with Him or even when it just suits them for the moment – slowly the relationship begins to wane.
So when the time comes for us to come and be part of the celebration, what will we be doing?
I fear that we will be busy making money and really enjoying making money and doing business. I believe that we might be so far removed from our relationship with God that we might even think that it doesn’t matter any more to even be invited. We might even be among those who scoff at anyone who even remotely is in love with Jesus – saying, been there…done that.
The invitation is to all, the call is for everyone – at the end of the day, its your choice to come. When you come, you cannot come as you are – you have to come walking with Jesus. Clothed properly, the gift of your life prepared to present to Him, ready and passionate to enter into His world and participate with others who have been called and chosen for this special occasion.
Many are called, but few are chosen.
